It was April 1941, when Carl Willis opened the doors to his new business "Carls Tire and Auto Supply" located at 248 2nd Avenue Gallipolis, Ohio. As the years passed it evolved into the "Willis Tire & Appliance Company", selling not only tires and automotive accessories but household appliances as well. As the business continued to grow, Carl's son Raymond joined him in 1953. Tires always seemed to be their main interest. With the addition of the recap shop they began to wholesale tires as well. After Carl's death in 1959, Raymond continued on with the family business.

In 1971 Raymond's son Russ came on board followed by Raymond's daughter Susan Willis Russell in 1980.
But change continued.

We are now known as Willis Tire Company. Located at 700 1st Avenue, Gallipolis, Ohio with over 56,000 square feet of warehouse space, the business is now solely devoted to the wholesale tire industry. Now with 24 employees we continue to grow. A fleet of 12 delivery trucks service tire dealers not only in Ohio but West Virginia, Kentucky and Indiana as well. Russ's son Matt joined the operation in 1994 making this the 4th generation serving the tire industry.
